Overview

Under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, every industrial, commercial, or infrastructure unit in Gujarat must obtain prior approval from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) before construction (CTE) and before commencing operations (CCA/CTO). Units are classified as Red, Orange, Green, or White category based on their pollution potential, and the consent conditions, validity, and monitoring frequency depend on this classification.

Our Process

  1. Site assessment and pollution category classification of your unit
  2. Preparation of the manufacturing process write-up, flow chart, and pollution control system details
  3. Online application filing on the GPCB XGN portal with site plan, layout, and supporting documents
  4. Coordination with GPCB regional office for document verification and site inspection
  5. Liaison until CTE is granted, followed by CCA application after plant setup and trial run
  6. Renewal management before expiry to avoid operational disruption

Documents Typically Required

  • Site plan and layout plan
  • Proof of land ownership/lease
  • Project report with process flow chart
  • Details of raw materials, water consumption, and effluent/emission generation
  • Pollution control equipment specifications
  • Application fee as per investment slab

Why It Matters Operating without valid CTE/CCA can lead to closure notices, penalties, and legal action under the Water and Air Acts. We manage the entire consent lifecycle so you can focus on operations.
